![]() The only difference is the operating system, being Windows 10 64 bit rather than Windows 7. I have the exact same setup on another PC, running Attract Mode and mame64. I kind of have the feeling that the problem correlates with Windows. I have spent a frustrating amount of time looking at everything I can think of.ĭoes anyone have any idea of what this could be causing have not resolved the problem as of yet, but I do have a few suggestions that I'm willing to try. I would love to get my Hyperspin setup running again as that is pretty neat with MAME, consoles and Daphne all loaded with videos and animations. I have been using MALA for a while now for MAME but your post reminded me of my Hyperspin issue. I have tested that the joysticks and buttons are working (they are) and if I just run games from a basic MAME interface (mamepgui) or use the MALA frontend then the joysticks and buttons all work ok. It does recognise if a button is pressed during the intro animation (as it is supposed to) and will skip the intro and go to the game wheel but then accepts no further input. Hyperspin would start and go through the intro animation but when the game wheel menu loaded it would not accept any input from joystick or buttons. I copied all of this onto another PC running Windows 8 and had a similar problem to what you are describing. I had a fully functioning Hyperspin setup running on Windows XP with multiple emulators, videos and animations in all menus working. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago when setting Hyperspin up on a Windows 8 PC. Have you had any success in identifying or fixing this issue? Now, the problem is when Attract Mode loads (I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed, boots straight into Attract Mode) sometimes you're able to use the joysticks and buttons, and other times not? Perhaps updating Attract Mode 2.3 will resolve it? I just can't navigate or select a game in Attract Mode.Īs always, any help would be greatly appreciated! I believe I have the latest driver/firmware for the J-PAC, I know that it isn't a Groovymame issue as I can play the games. I use this plugin to resolve the issue of the debug window briefly appearing when exiting games in Attract Mode. It essentially hides the debug command prompt window that runs when you launch Attract Mode. I do have a plugin installed that may be the culprit (haven't been able to test it out just yet), the plugin is called "Launch App". When they don't work, the only solution I've found is to end all Attract Mode.exe processes, and re-open Attract Mode. When the joysticks/buttons work in Attract mode, they will always work. Also, I've closed Attract Mode and opened a notepad up to test the buttons and Joysticks. Now, the problem is when Attract Mode loads (I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed, boots straight into Attract Mode) sometimes you're able to use the joysticks and buttons, and other times not? I don't believe it to be an issue with the J-PAC as there are no warning lights on the PCB. I built a M.A.M.E arcade machine for a friend of mine, and he seems to be having an annoying issue with it.
